Really heavy fog can mess up where you going and there's an epic gameplay just by going from point to point, for new players tho that might be frustrating, but if you want an extra challenge that's a whole new experience.įor sh3 the crew management is pretty interesting where for sh5 there's only chat interactions. Sh5 real navigation is a big thing for gameplay if you enjoy uber realism.

I would recommend watching some short videos of each game (people sinking ships, driving the sub, or peoples first episode to a campaign since it shows everything) and deciding that way It also has a “dlc” which is basically a different game, called u boat missions which allows playing as a German boat instead of American or Japanese. Its a good game but I havent played it much to comment. Steam does sell sh4 under the name “Silent Hunter Wolves of The Pacific”. If you get this one, it must have The Wolves of Steel mod. Sh5 is a good game, but very buggy and only has the type VII uboat, with missions that the game wants you to complete instead of being suggested to go somewhere.

I prefer SH3 over everything, especially with GWX 3.0 mod, and I have a set of instructions to make it run in 1920x1080 if you get the game and want it in that resolution. And is their anything I should know?
